Panajachel (Lago Atitlán ) and Quetzaltenango This package has as its model beginning the traverse of Guatemala, on Sunday from the city of Antigua Guatemala to Chichicastenango; here you will be able to have direct contact with artisans from the biggest indigenous market in Guatemala.
Then you will go on to Panajachel, which sits on the shore of the most beautiful lake in Central America: Atitlán , You will stay in a hotel with access to the lake for 3 nights. From there you will visit the pueblos that dot the lake's shoreline and get to know the handicrafts and the customs of the indigenous Maya.
In the afternoon on Wednesday you will travel to and stay in the 2 nd largest city in Guatemala, Quetzaltenango, which will include a hotel in the center of the city. On your tour of the city you will visit the museums and parks of the center of the city, las fuentes Georginas (thermal baths), iglesia San Andrés Xecul, where you will see Maya art on the façade of the church.
During the tour a Spanish teacher will be present who will ease the application of the language in a constant manner for 5 days, with 5 hours of daily language instruction. You will return to Antigua Guatemala on Friday afternoon.
History of Panajachel (lago Atitlán) This is the most developed municipality for the tourism industry and services associated with it. It is the most important tourist point in the department. History of Quetzaltenango Due to its geographic location, which is quite varied, between 2,800 and 3,500 meters above sea level, one could call its climate chilly.
